Seriously, what makes people think they don't have to obey the airplane rules on electronic devices?

I have sat next to people who actually take cell calls on takeoff and landing, turn on wireless e-mail, send texts, and one guy whipped the finger at an attendant who told him he needed to shut his iPod down for landing. I just got into a fight with a guy when I asked him why he turned his blackberry on before we touched down. His answer? "I always do it and the plane has never crashed."

I kid you not.

Punishment: knitting needle through the ear or spork through the eye?|||Just scream "we're goin' down!" and smash the guy against the window as if you're trying to break the glass.|||I'ma vote spork|||I think the spork would be more easily smuggled aboard.|||I agree. It is for health and safety measures anyway. If the bluetooth of someone's phone interacts with the aeroplane, problems can arise and those problems could lead to the plane crashing and maybe then causing harm to people. Is it all worth the risk? No.

|||The odds of their object effecting the radio signals to controll towers are very unlikly but they still shouldnt do it

Spork would be worse cause you got to work it|||Because some people are immense douches and they think they are SO important that their call/e-mail/text simply cannot wait. They should make all those people ride on their own plane, that way if it crashes it's all their own fault.

Knitting need and a spork. It's the only way they'll learn.|||Do you knit on the plane? That's so cute. Little sick-bag cozies and aisle seat elbow cushions... darling. Just darling.|||People do a lot of annoying things on planes, that's why I start drinking before I even get on board.|||I think all electronic devices should be taken from passengers upon boarding planes and then given back when it is deemed safe to use them. That would surely avoid any problems, but it won't ever happen. The real problem is SOME people are unbelievably selfish and have HUGE entitlement issues that cause them to wrongly believe they do not and should not have to comply with any set of rules or regulations that are being imposed. They truly believe they are somehow above the "the rest" and, therefore, need not worry about silly rules. To put it simply, they don't believe their actions will affect anyone, so they do as they please. I see this all the time. It's very frustrating.|||you shoulda busted out the spork right there.

then slowly peeled back his skin with it.

and poured lemon juice on it as you were peeling it.

then as soon as that pain went away, you shoulda salted it.

then made him lick it.

then steal his blackberry.|||i couldnt even take a skateboard on the domestic flight here,

i bought it from Movie World(it didnt even have the wheels on it yet)

after i checked in with carry on luggage,i walked off,i heard my name being called, and the desk lady said you cant take that on board,i asked why? she said it could be used as a weapon..

maybe laptops dont hurt when you get wacked across the head with them!!

my daugher was asked to turn off her ipod on the plane, she said it runs on batterys lol ;) i told her to do as she was told..|||Here's the rule, My Friend, and you KNOW I know what I'm talking about when it comes to flying on board commercial aircraft...

Do whatever you want when the flight attendants are out of sight...

Got it?

All righty then...
