How to prevent eye pain caused by computer monitors ?

Hello,

I'm currently studying for my new job .. and the only option for me is to read electronic books on my laptop since I don't have any printed material for it. and thus , I work on computer 8 hours a day in average and some times more.

I get pain in my eye and some times headache... I tried to place the monitor 2 feets away .. and applied 20/20/20 rule .. but I don't feel much better ..

I noticed that this happened when I started working on the laptop , as many times I lay on my back and put it on my chest about 1 feet away until first eye pain happened ..

is there any cure for that ... and if it's in clear and simple english ( as it's not my native language) i'd be very thankful.|||I would suggest a monitor screen. It darkens the screen in a different way than adjusting the settings.

If this doesn't work, you may need to go to the eye doctor and tell them the problem and they can run better more acurate tests.

Good luck, I hope it gets better.|||Wear sunglasses...that helps me get rid of eye pain|||Try a monitor filter. Adjusting the brightness and contrast may also help.|||See if you can get special glasses for when you're on the computer.

You should also look at an object at a far distance every couple minutes, take a break, and walk around. This gets your eyes focusing on something thats not soo close to your face(which is causing the eye strain)
