TV Cable Box in Closet Is there a wireless electronic eye that can be mounted outside to use remote?

We have a flatscreen mounted on the wall..All the wiring is behind the flatscreen that goes through the wall and into a closet. This was not a problem until we switched to digital cable. Now we have to get up to change channels or turn the cable box off. Is there any type of product out there that is like an electronic eye that could elimiate the need to constantly get up to change the channel. We have to have the closet door open and aim inside the closet to change channels..

Cable card is not an option as our tv isn't that fancy yet :)

Any help would be greatly appreciated...

Also...The tv is on the wall and all other electronics are in the closet as well. This was done to elimate seeing any cables. The only thing on the wall is the tv and there is a fireplace below it..There is nowhere to put any boxes so this would have to be something wireless...|||CONTROL A/V DEVICES BEHIND CLOSED CABINET DOORS

There are several ways to get around this problem depending on how many A/V devices are contained within the cabinet.

This should give you an idea of what you are looking for
