Is there a device to track lost people with dementia?

My dad has been attempting to wander off, lately I have been watching him like his shadow. I am afraid that one day, in the blink of an eye he will get the ups on me and disappear. That is why I am searching for a electronic tracking device in case he gets lost from me. Anyone know of any such devices?|||angelheart - Yes, indeed, there is a device to track lost people with dementia. Contact any of your local long-term care nursing homes who have patients with dementia. That's most of them. They use an ankle or wrist band with a tracking device. Many veterinarians are now implanting such tiny devices just below the skin of pets to be able to locate them. Police have long used them in setting up traps for stolen cars. Try looking in your phone book for your local aging care service.|||yes but sadly i dont remember the name. i saw commercials on tv for the product. ALso consider joining a care givers support group. they will have them ost current and helpful info available.|||Yes, there is such a device. It's similar to the ones used by the court system for people who are on home arrest. Its called a home tracking device. The base unit stays in the person's home, while the remote locator is strapped on the person's belt. It is based on the GPS system. Type home tracking device in your search field, yahoo alone gives several sites for one.
