Some newer models are self aligning but this is what you will need and here are the steps its quite easy.
Tools:
screwdriver
string
socket wrench
lock washers
Steps:
1. Remove the nut holding one of the sensors in place and add a lock washer under the nut. Replace the sensor and tighten the nut with the socket driver . A lock washer will keep the sensor in position
2. Repeat the process with the other sensor.
3. Pull length of string between devices to make sure they are in alignment. Make adjustments to one or both devices if needed and tighten nuts.
4. Test garage door by closing the garage door then waving your hand in front of one of the sensors. If the door stops and reverses, then all is well.
Good Luck|||They should be easy to align. Watch the LED on the unit as you adjust its aim and look for it to turn from red to green, then you know they're aligned.|||if in doubt, measure the distance from floor to center of lens on each side of door. Check to see they are both level, you have about a plus or minus 3/4" tolerance. If you still have trouble pull a stringline tight across the center of the unit to the other side.|||Put a piece of paper on the photocell and mark the center. Position the light on the center.
